PRE - WGT MEETING
For WGT 2008 we arranged a Pre - WGT Meeting so we could meet up with other English speaking people. The meeting was a great
success in a great venue, so the prospects of holding a meeting in subsequent years is very high.

Therefore the following can be formally announced.
Time and Date: Thursday May 28th 2009, 7pm - 10pm
Location: Bayerischer Bahnhof: http://www.bayerischer-bahnhof.de/

MEETING INFO
The meeting is open to all ‘Americans in Leipzig’ group members, ‘WGTLeipzigUKGroup’ members, Sadgoth.com readers and
anybody else who you care to drag along (with the premise that the meeting is set up for English Speaking people to meet and get to
know each other, be they Americans, British, Aussies, South Africans, Canadians etc)  The venue is the Bayerischer Bahnhof, a large
restaurant / bar located not too far south of the Moritzbastei. It’s all informal, so if you want to come for one drink or many it’s up to you, I
would just say that I would be happy to finally put a face to many of the names and posts...so come along and say hello.

GETTING TO THE BAYERISCHER BAHNHOF
The Bayerischer Bahnhof is just outside the city ring road to the southeast and within walking distance of the Moritzbastei (south), or
right on the Strassenbahn Line 16, which runs past the Hauptbahnhof and Augustusplatz, and Line 9, which runs to Werk II. Many of you
will have probably passed the building on the way to and from other venues (see attached picture).  Bayerischer Bahnhof was the old
station for southbound trains. It is now home to a brewery famous for producing Leipzig's own specialty beer, 'Leipzig Gose' (see
below) and includes a large restaurant and bar. So come and meet up with old friends and make new ones! The Bayerischer Bahnhof
has more than just Gose, of course, and if you arrive hungry, feel free to order from the menu.

Look for ‘BAYERISCHER STATION’ at the bottom of the page and ‘Q BLUE’ on the map...

GOSE
If you get the chance you might want to find a local bar and try the local 'Gose' Beer. Gose is a top-fermented wheat beer, sometimes
including oats, with added coriander and salt. The inclusion of coriander and salt is contrary to the excessively strict beer purity law
("Reinheitsgebot" ) but as the law was a Bavarian one and Gose originated outside Bavaria, this wasn't a problem until the unification of
Germany and the wider application of the Reinheitsgebot. Gose was traditionally spontaneously fermented, like Belgian lambic ales or
Berliner Weisse, with fermentation being initiated by natural wild yeasts carried in the air, instead of the addition of particular strains of
yeast but today's brewers use their own yeasts. Gose is traditionally bottled in a flattish, near semicircular bottle, with a tall, narrow
neck. The neck was designed to trap the foam of fermentation and thus produce a natural bung e is an extract about
