DESCRIPTION OF HOTEL FROM HOTEL WEBSITE
|
|
The 4 star Novotel Leipzig City with 200 modern rooms has a great central location, only 200 m from the city centre, directly opposite the historic main train station. The Opera, the Gewandhaus concert hall and the Thomas church are only a few minutes walk away. The exhibition area and the airport are easy to reach, just 15 km away. Our hotel offers a cosy restaurant with a romantic courtyard terrace, a hotel bar as well as 9 function rooms.

So quite a few of my friends (7) stayed here in 2006, and I hope one of them writes a full report. The Hotel is normally quite popular with the goth crowd, and this year was no exception. The hotel is quite cheap. However from what I heard nobody that stayed this year will stay again next year. Hotel staff were quite rude and unhelpful and rooms seemed to be very noisy and not Sound Proof as the Novotel Websites states.
Review by Various
It was my first time in Leipzig and we stayed at the Novotel. It was quite nice to be honest, the only problems I had there was that I didn't press the key card enough into the lock so had to get the lass from reception to open my door for me. You could hear stuff in the corridor but that was about it - I didn't hear much the whole time I was in the rooms.
They had a wonderful alarm system as I slept through my wake up call the first day and the first thing I was aware of in the morning was the lights coming on and a bloke in my room saying "Good morning, you slept through your alarm call."! The alarm calls I woke up to were on time and polite.
Room wise, well if you didn't leave the do not disturb sign on the door expect visitors, but with the sign out, I slept in till 2pm one day undisturbed. Breakfast and room according to a friend were almost up to the Renaissance's standard, yet at a fraction the cost.
I wasn't aware of being treated differently, but then again I wasn't particularly looking for it to be honest. We are definitely going to try to book it next year and were trying to persuade our friends to stay there too, so we can go about as more of a mob.
