the main Central area to the South East, probably best reached by
taxi when you first arrive or take Tram 4, 7 ,12 or 15 to
'Johannisplatz'

Just a short stroll from the city centre, the 4 star hotel Mercure Leipzig Am Johannisplatz
is in a quiet area and features 174 rooms and 9 conference rooms. All the major sights
are nearby, such as the famous Auerbachs Cellar, the old town hall as well as the opera
and Gewandhaus concert hall. Our friendly service will ensure your stay in Leipzig is a
pleasant one. After a busy day, relax in our wellness area or enjoy Saxon specialties in
our restaurant.

Not impressed with the hotel, they first gave us a twin smoking room, when we had
asked for a non smoking double. We managed to change it although staff struggled with
English. We felt a little ignored in the hotel by staff. Sleeping late was OK but cleaners
did want to clean our room by 2pm. The room was generally very quite, but cleaning staff
in the corridors were noisy and we could hear the TV from the room next door. The Hotel
was quite cheap and full of Goths.
