You will arrive at Leipzig´s modern main train station - the largest
main line station in Europe. Directly in front of the train station is
the central tram station. You can take tram No 1 (direction
"Lausen" ) or No 14 (direction “S-Bahnhof Plagwitz”). Get yourself
a "Kurzstrecke" (short journey ) tram ticket, which costs 1,30 Euro.
Get off at the second tram stop (“Gottschedstraße”). The Sleepy
Lion Hostel is opposite the tram stop. from Berlin to Leipzig by
train for just 10 Euro!An alternative to the tram is a 10 minute walk.
Come out of the train station and follow the Troendlinring, then the
Goerdelerring until you pass the Hauptfeuerwache (main fire
station). Turn into the Käthe-Kollwitz-Str. and you ´ll see us right
away.

Last year I stayed at a wonderful Hostel named the Sleepy Lion. You can get 2-bed
rooms with a bathroom for pretty cheap, I think around 27 American (13 something a
bed). 6 bed rooms have lower prices per bed of course The staff is nice, friendly and fun
to hang out with. The rooms were VERY NICE. I was happy. Actually I think the
cleanliness of the rooms outweighed all of the 3 star hotels I've stayed at here in the
northeastern US. The location wasn't bad either. I highly recommend it. Really I can't say
enough nice things about it. The only downside is there wasn't much in the way of an
after party sort of environment although there was a small bar.
The hostel is located 10/15 minutes away from the Moritzbastei and about 10 minutes
away from the railroad station. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. For each guest
there is a locker in the room, and as far as I know each room has its own bathroom and
shower. The place is real goth friendly, as soon as the manager, Ronny, knew the about
the fest he only accepted Goths. I can recommend it both for location and facilities. At a
price of 14 to 18 Euro per night, plus 3 per stay for the sheets it's a bargain.

Everybody only has high praise for this Hostel, highly recommended. However you will
find that it becomes fully booked very fast, and many regulars may have a first
preference. Book early to avoid dissappointment.
